Today I’d like to talk about my Marathon Training Essentials. The training for a marathon requires a special trainings plan and also special equipment and some dietary supplements.
So let’s talk about my favorite sports wear, tech accessories & supplements.
FUNCTIONAL SPORTS WEAR BY ADIDAS
As I’m training about 6 times a week, I need lots of sports wear. Of course my running gear needs to be functional, but yet stylish and great to wear. ADIDAS offers a wide range of super stylish & functional running gear. Training for a marathon that takes place very early in the season, such as the Vienna City Marathon, means training in winter and cold wintery conditions, snow, rain, temperatures below zero, but also springish – not to say summery, temperatures the last week. These conditions require different running gear, but thanks to ADIDAS I’m always perfectly dressed. MULITI-SPORTS WATCH – GARMIN FENIX 3
My constant training companion, the Garmin fenix3, supports me during my runs with all kind of data I need during my runs and afterwards with statistics. The fenix 3 is the best outdoor GPS watch I’ve ever used. It has stunning good looks and all the features I’ll ever need for tracking sport and outdoor activities. I can even receive SMS, emails, and push notifications even if I’m out for a run and read them on my watch whenever I’m ready to read it. READ MORE ….
NUTRITION – JENTSCHURA MORGENSTUND’
As you guys know, I never skip my breakfast. My typical breakfast is the gluten free MORGENSTUND’ BREI from JENTSCHURA which you might already can remember from this article. MorgenStund’ contains carefully selected ingredients such as the gluten-free seeds of millet, buckwheat and amaranth as well as sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and sweet almonds. It’s super easy to prepare and ready to eat within a few minutes. I normally prepare it with lactose free milk or almond milk and love to stir in some protein powder or an egg white and also add some fruits and nuts. The perfect breakfast before a run.
Sometimes I love to enjoy a protein shake after my strength training. The FITNESSGURU ONE WHEY ISOLATE is my favorite. They are absolutely yummy and more taste like a milk shake and not like a real protein shake which often have a a very typical floury protein taste.
After my interval sessions and long run sessions, I always drink ONE AMINO COLA (which is also available in 4 other flavors). It contain 92.4% amino acids and is100% carbohydrate and sugar free. I use it after my runs as it improves my recovery and helps to maintain my muscles and helps me not to loose them from all the cardio.
