As I often post my breakfast and parts of my morning routine on my social media channels you roughly know what it looks like. Coffee is definitely the key part of my morning routine. Since I’m self-employed and work at my office at home, I amble to plan my day in a way it suits for me well. You know, all the triathlon training and other stuff I do, needs to fit in perfectly…
What does my typical morning look like?
I wake up pretty early at around 6 o’clock with the mister, but normally I stay in bed a little longer and check all my social media channels, try to start answering some mails and read some online newspapers. Here the magic word consisting of 6 letters comes in C-O-F-F-E-E!
It usually look like this – A girl looking like a sleep walker (me), still half asleep walking into the kitchen, making herself a cup of lungo, then the girl walks back to bed and starts doing the above described routine. Well, that’s basically me, each and every morning.
I’m a huge Nespresso fan and cannot remember not owning a Nespresso machine. My parents even have one that’s build into their kitchen and so I’ve always been drinking Nespresso coffee for more than 10 years now. I love black coffee, occasionally I make myself a soy latte, but that’s somehow more a treat for me after a long and intensive training session.
In the morning I love to enjoy a cup of lungo, more precisely a cup of Linizio Lungo – my favorite. It always feels like that this first cup of coffee in the morning is my “activate button” to get myself ready for the day.
So, where did I stop….
At around 6:30 I leave my cozy bed and finally get up and get ready for the day. Usually I try to incorporate a little workout into my morning routine.
Sometimes I go for a fasted 1ok morning run (a run without eating anything before. Perfect to lose fat!) and on other days I start my day with a strength training session. These are my additional training sessions which I normally do prior to a real breakfast. I always do my longer and more challenging training sessions after a proper breakfast, as I just wouldn’t be able to train perfectly during longer training session with empty tanks;)
Normally I finish my pre-brekfast workout at around eight or half past eight. Of course I directly jump into the shower after my running session, but if I don’t get too sweaty during my strength training I stay in my sports wear and directly prepare myself some healthy breakfast.
My breakfasts normally consists of my favorite chocolate protein porridge fresh fruits and a second and often a third cup of my beloved Nespresso Grand Cru. The Linizio Lungo is a well-rounded blend made of Brazilian and Colombian coffee. The split-roasting gives it a cereal, malty note, while maintaining its mild and smooth character. Just how I love it! The perfect morning coffee to wake me up super early in the morning, a great reward after my early “am-workout” and perfect addition to my breakfast.
Now during summer time I love to work outside on our terrace and peacefully enjoy my breakfast and coffee out there. So I normally start working while having breakfast, enjoying my cup of lungo and listening to some good relaxing tunes in the background.
I would love to know what your favorite lungo moment looks like! Tell me in the comments! ;)
