As you guys might have noticed already on Instagram I got the chance to spent the night before my marathon race in one of Austria’s most luxury Hotels – the Hotel Meliã Vienna. So we did something absolutely new on Saturday, packed our bags hopped in the car and headed to the other side of the city, across the Danube, to the so called Danube City.
The Hotel Meliã Vienna is located in Austria’s tallest skyscraper, the Danube City (DC) Tower, designed by French star architect Dominique Perrault. The 220 meters and 58 floor building is also the first sustainable or GreenBuilding in Austria. It’s dark monolith appearance with a square, blocky shape that is broken up on one side and looks like waterfall is absolutely stunning!
The Meliã Vienna offers 253 spacious guest rooms, including 14 design suites, ensuring that there is something to suit every taste. The bright and spacious guest rooms provide everything you need whether it is for business or sight seeing purposes. As the DC Tower is directly located at the „Reichsbrücke“, the starting line of the Vienna City Marathon, it’s for sure the perfect luxury place to stay for the marathon, wheter as athlete or spectator. All rooms have floor to ceiling windows, you can enjoy stunning views of the Danube River and the city. Your room or the rooft top bar are the perfect locations to watch the crowd of 40 000 atheletes heading acrcross the starting line & towards the city.
M & I were both stunned when we entered our suite and driectly fell in love with the most stunning view and the absolutely perfect clean & modern interior.
The rooms at Meliã Vienna are equipped with state-of-the-art technology features such as ultra slim LED TVs, Wi-Fi, media hub HD station and work desk with full AV connectivity. Lavish bathrooms are equipped with rain shower, bath tub (in most rooms) and premium amenities.
The Meliã Vienna boasts 1,079 sq m of flexible event space. The Grand Ball Room offers the perfect setting for an exclusive gala dinner or wedding and eight smaller meeting rooms are ideal for more private company meetings. In the resaurant on the 57th floor you can enjoy an array of Austrian and international cuisine. The chef the cuisine places high value on local and seasonal products and also offers a varitey of healthy and vegan delicacies.
The 57th floor is already featuring a breathtaking view over the city, but if you continue to the roof top bar on the 58th floor, you realise that the sky is no longer the limit. The bar not only offers the most stunning view over the city, but also the most delcious cocktails.
We enjoyed the most relaxing time at Hotel Meliã Vienna and felt totally rested and relaxed at the morning of our race. We both slept like on clouds in the uber comfy and luxurious bed and thanks to that and the fantastic breakfast, started into the day with a perfect basis for a great race. The extremly friendly staff made our stay even more special and made us feel welcome and at home from the moment we entered the lobby.
