Today I’ve got another Hotel review for you guys.

As I receive quite a lot of emails asking me where to stay in Vienna, here is another option for you.

Budget hotels with stunning design standards, doesn’t that sound great?

At the moment they have over 50 hotels from Hamburg to Munich and from Vienna to Edinburgh. You can find Motel One hotels in Germany and throughout Europe. Every year, they open new hotels in great locations, to spread their philsophy – “Great design for little money”.

Motel One hotel chain is akin to the Ikea of temporary lodging.

But now, let’s talk about the Motel One Wien Westbahnhof.  

It’s Located in the city center, next tot he Western train station (Westbahnhof). From here you have access to perfect transport links. The hotel is perfectly located as the Mariahilfer Straße, Austria’s largest shopping street, is just located in front of the hotel. All famous spots and must-see places are just a stone’s throw away, such as the venerable Hofburg Palace, the St Stephan’S Cathedral, museums, the Naschmarkt, only to mention a few. Schönbrunn Palace, a World Heritage Site and Austria’s most visited sight, is also just around the corner. Visit this breathtaking palace and feel like empress „Sissi“ for one day.

Motel One Wien Westbahnhof is also the perfect springboard for the Vienna City Marathon. Whether for athletes or spectators. It’s directly located on the course of the marathon and the perfect place to watch the race and see the crowds of athletes passing by. You only need to step out of the hotel to the corner of Mariahilferstraße or directly stay at the hotel and watch the race from one of the upper floors.

The hotel is totally my kind of style – no frills, but looks super swank.

We were greeted warmly at the check-in and the staff was super nice throughout our stay. The breakfast was excellent. Buy that with your room, otherwise it is 7.50€/pp. You also have a free wfi access during your stay throughout the whole hotel.

In the One Lounge you have the chance to swap information, network and enjoy a drink in an elegantly stylish designed surrounding. The rooms are designed to be your private oasis of calm and invite to get down to some concentrated work or chill out in comfort. We woke up totally refreshed after a good night’s sleep.

The emphasis is on modern design that creates ambiance and a good atmosphere. The lightening in the rooms is very welcoming and makes you feel at home. A modern LOEWE flat screen TV offers entertainment. The bathroom is like a little private spa and the raindance shower invites to shower and relax a little longer.
